I replaced the vertical ic. The crt 10ohm resistor checks good, and the 1ohm
resistors in the vertical circuits check ok. No shorted zeners aroun the
vertical. The vertical IC is getting +13 and -13v. After desolderig the flyback
secondaries and ground, there was a small blue flame coming through the ground
pin on the flyback. Not heavy arcing as in a shorted high voltage anode. I
replaced the flyback, same problem. I noticed however when I desoldered the
flyback ground, that even though it was arcing, the set stayed on. I dont have
a schematic. Any help on this problem would be appreciated.
PS Will removing the vertical IC stop the set from shutting down if the
vertical is the problem?
