[TechAssist] Re: Letter from Sandie

I use a hands free unit and my cell phone is set to answer automatically
on one ring. But you are right it is still distracting to talk on the
phone and drive.

I think it is because we are trying to visualize what the customer is
describing is wrong with their TV. Talking business is much different
from talking casually. What I hate is when I am behind an erratic
driver and he finally turns left and then I notice he is holding a cell
phone to his ear with one hand while he is trying to change gears and
turn the steering wheel with the other hand. 'Get a hands free!' I
yell. But they never hear me.

In my experience, it matters little whether it's hands free or not. It
seems
to be the talking that takes too much of my attention away from what I
should be paying attention to ---- driving. Somehow it's quite different

than casually talking to someone who's riding with you.
