fuse slot." i HAVE TRIED THIS BEFORE AND SOME AMPLIFIERS DON'T LIKE IT!! 
Sorry for shouting. You probably have leaky xistor in pre-amp and will have 
to replace all pre-amp as well as amp outputs. HTH
