JVC AV36980, dead, SMPS pulses one time.

I have schematic for model AV36050 which looks like the same power supply.
Monitoring pin 3 of the STRF6626 and switching on my variac there is just
one attempt to start a second or two after switching the AC on. I've
replaced the STRF6626 twice and just about every part in the primary side,
also have checked the secondary side rectifiers and checked for shorts to
ground. Any help from anyone on this?
