Bob; You are absolutely correct. All were bad. But alas...still flat lined. I presume I have a bad new Vertical O/P IC. Although it calls for a 7832 I replaced it with a 7830, which I think should be OK. But seems to me I had a bad batch of LA7830, because I had a ?? on the bag. So I'll order the LA7832 and give it a fighting chance. Thanks. -Ed- -Ed- Tel-Tek Electronics Ontario-Canada teltek3@xxxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gemini Computer & TV" <geminitv@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 16, 2004 12:09 PM Subject: [TechAssist] Re: JVC AV-27920 (D422) Zener > See the following: > > JVC Vertical Failure > > You most likely have all or most of the following components defective in > that unit (these are the usual bad components with vertical IC failure in > these JVCs) so you better check or replace them all: > > IC421 (part# LA7832) > D422 (part# MTZJ75-T2) (75 volt zener) > D541 (part# RGP10J-5025-T3) > R541 (1.8 ohm, 2 watt) > C424 (100mfd/35v) > C425 (470mfd/35v) > > Bob Waterman, CET® #RI-28 > Master Technician License #9109 > Service Manager / Parts Manager > Gemini Computer, TV, & Security Alarms > (508)695-7302 > (508)695-7769 FAX > geminitv@xxxxxxxxxxx > geminitv@xxxxxxx > www.geminicomputertvsecurityalarms.com > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ed Gaidies" <teltek3@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Friday, April 16, 2004 11:57 AM > Subject: [TechAssist] JVC AV-27920 (D422) Zener > > > > Anyone have a value for this zener from Pin 2 of vertical Output IC?
