The camcorder has DC/DC switchmode converters to power the deck and the
camera. They are just running from 12 volts instead of 170 volts.
Dried out or leaking electrolytics are not unusual in these models. The
camera head boards also can have problem electrolytics. If the various +
and - voltages at the camera head connector look clean, the problem is most
likely caps in the camera head.
