Jerry,
Since they are here in Nashville, for training, I doubt they will respond...

Subject: [TechAssist] Hitachi 53SDX89BA Chassis DP86V Intermittent Picture
Problems.
Hitachi 53SDX89BA Chassis DP86V Intermittent Picture Problems.
Some time no picture. Some times full deflection but will have a black
rectangle all the way up and
down about 1/3ed of the lift side of screen. Other times double image. One time
I saw a 8" wide picture
across the entire middle, while the rest of the top and bottom had diagonal
lines going all the way across
the screen. When that happened it looked like it had full deflection of the
picture and just kept a 8"
wide sample. May play perfect for a long time in between the symptoms. We have
manual already. Didn't see
any thing about this in your tech bulletins or archives. My tech thinks it's
the comb filter or PIP
module. Nothing has been done to it yet except let it play.
I have already email Hitachi about this but thought maybe some one out
there has seen this problem
lately. Thanks
Jerry
