Hi, There is a service bullitin that covers your problem. i have uploaded it to the documents area. look for "dvd50 hk 2002" Joe Blanks Monmouth Stereo 450 Hwy 35 Shrewsbury, N.J. 07702 732-842-0595 ----- Original Message ----- From: "peter kowalik" <pe.kow@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2003 12:43 AM Subject: [TechAssist] HarmonKarden DVD50 > Hello All, Checking out a dvd player in our shop, drawer opens and closes, accepts disc, begins reading disc (disc starts to spin) about 10 sec later disc stops spinning (having never gotten up to full speed) while the display continues to show "reading". After about 30 more seconds the OSD reads " This disk is not compatible with this player. Please insert a compatible disk". The display on the unit reads "disk error". This happens with both DVD's and CD's. Might one surmise that with the messages displayed the unit may be experiencing a ROM fault rather than a bad lens as a faulty lens would more likely give a prompt more like "no disk". Has anyone seen this type of fault? The unit is only 2 years old and being a HK not inexpensive. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
