[TechAssist] Getting too many emails?

Members;

Even though the TechAssist welcome message members receive
and information about the list states members will get a good
bit of email (average about 50 per day, which is typical of
most repair lists), some members have left because they feel
this is too many.  For those of you who feel you may be
receiving too many emails, remember that you can get the
digest version of the list sent to you daily.  This will be
only ONE email containing all posts for the day.

If you opt for this, and need/want to reply to any of the
emails in the digest, REMEMBER to simply copy 'n paste the
appropriate email from WITHIN the digest into another email
with Re: in the subject line, and of course give it subject
line of the email you wish to reply to.  Or, one can just
"reply", and BE SURE to put the correct email address for
posting in the To: line, then highlight and delete out all of
the OTHER emails in the digest except what you are replying
to, then give it the correct subject line (Re: [subject
name]) so all will know it is a REPLY and not an original
post.

Information on how to set accounts to 'digest' are in the
welcome message you received when you joined.  Since most
probably deleted this without every reading it, I've put that
portion below.

3.  Each member can access their own accounts VIA your own
     "personal web interface".  Here members can set the
     email list to 'vacation' if ever required, or set the
     list to 'digest' mode as well as many other settings.
     AFTER you have been subscribed and you login for the
     first time, you will be emailed a code, simply copy
     & paste it into the appropriate area on the next page
     you will see, then you can set your passwords & access
     the list's options.  This area can be found here:
     http://www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi
     Note that after logging in, you must select OUR list in
     the main menu at the left.  Currently, our list is
     towards the bottom area, scroll all the way down, then
     start scrolling upwards.  This is the only way it can
     be explained at this time.  This WILL change as more
     lists are added, so take note that the position of OUR
     email list in this area WILL "MOVE UP" as time
     progresses.  Note that after being subscribed, you will
     see the word (subscribed) after the TechAssist entry
     in this menu, so that will make stand out a bit and be
     much easier to find.
     [UPDATE] I have been informed that FreeLists will soon
     put that list menu in alphabetical order, so that will
     be nice :)  (Currently, 8-30-01, our list is about 1/3
     the way UP).
