[TechAssist] GYYR VCR drum speed problem. . .

Hello all!
I have a GYYR time-lapse VCR Model TLC-1400.
The video drum speed seems to be very erratic.  Groans fast & slow.
DOES NOT  have the typical capstan motor circuit problem as motor control IC 
and problem resistor have already been replaced.
Anyone have any tips for this problem?
