Since no vertical drive will do this, I scoped for vert. output at
TP14501,got "trash",no good waveform.Went back to the vert. drive from
the T chip pin at TP14502. Still nothing. So, ordered a "T" chip U16201
(LA7612N, RCA# 241266). Installed new T chip , cured the shut down. Have
raster. No video. Only OSD and sound.I can enter menu setup,search
channels OK (they are detected and memorised) I can hear station
audio,change channels.Black screen unless I : 1) push menu and can see
OSD, or, 2) Push PIP and I get a good color PIP screen.Just no main
picture video. I tried direct line inputs audio/video and same
symptom.Ready to scream.There is a small video switching IC next to the
RCA jacks U26901,part# TEA6415C. Wonder if this is the final
culprit.ANY assistance welcomed!.-Phil
