To know if the problem is in the new micro, you have to measure if there
is a hi, all the time, on the base of the rely transistor drive, while
pressing the on off sw button. Also the drive transistor itself could be
shorted or leaking
good luck!

Al. Someone mention the relay and may have hit it right. try tapping on
the relay while in the off state and see if the set cuts off. If so,
Bingo relay at fault. If not I would try and put in the exact Micro .
When you installed the new micro. did the set fire up at plug in or did
you have to hit the power button first.

AVV36950 TA/ bad micro, NEW DEVELOPEMENTS
NEW DEVELOPMENTS:
Number on old micro is different and available, but NOT the one Tri
shipped. Set does everything except turn off completely, raster remains.
Can the new micro be so close and wrong?! Al L

JVC AV36950
Dead: replaced micro and infrared pickup, NOW:Set works BUT raster
comes
on at ac plug in,set works good when "on" hit on panel or remote. =A0 On
relay(RY921 in series with 134 volts) turned on b y micro,driver
transistors ok, BUT relay never goes open, UNLESS plug pulled, BUT red
LED
goes out and pix disappears when "on" buttons activated. =A0 NEW micro
has different number on it, BUT ordered from Tri Tronics,
AND
set works well, except for raster turn off. Any ideas? Five volts always
on is OK, and 5 volt reg is ok, and 5 volts looks clean. I am running
chassis on a RCA tube. TIA.
