Replaced Q5106, and tried wire around FBT core for heater. Retrace was gone,
color improved, but still Streaky and unbalanced. Found R5110 open.
Replaced, took off the heater boost , and put regular Heaters back on. Color
much better, balanced, no streaks, but too much red....hardly any blue or
Green. Replaced other 2 120K resistors for the other 2 Colors like R5110 was
for , still have too much red, and hardly any blue or green. Is this a Bad
CRT ? Any way to determine it without a CRT checker / Rejuvinator?

Just Found a Sticker on the Chassis: 9-1407 and Q5106 Reading 200 Ohms E-C
Both ways.
Going to replace it, and Winstips Says to Isolate the Heaters with 5 Turns
around the FBT core with with 20 Ga. Wire.

I see this CRT is commonly bad.

| Not Sure what chassis this is the Same as? It has a Zenith CRT A63ADG31X ,
| with ZENITH Stamped in the rubber FBT Anode Cup. Safe to say its a Zenith
| Chassis, but Which? CRT seems to be 25-27 Inches.
|
| Powers up ok, but Colors are Dim, overall Dim / unbalanced Colors....as if
| the Gamma is missing. IC4121 is getting real hot, and its Clip on Heat
Sink
| is loose. Not sure if its related.
|
| Mfr'd Aug. 1994. Any help appreciated, Thanks.
