Grantec GHV-2000 VGA to component converter, outputs 480p, 720p, 576p(pal),
& 1080i. I connect it to my notebook computer and for $100 I have all the
signals that I need.
Most units don't need it for alignment, but some have to have something to
sync up to in order to generate the internal patterns. I mostly use it as
an alternative source to check sets in the shop or to verify whether a set
is bad or the problem is in the source.
