Thanks Leonard and Leroy for responding. Brought the bottom of the cabinet in. 

Some one had to have been in it before. Found a transistor bent over and the 
legs were pulled out of the board. Don?t know what this transistor did even but 
it keep it from coming on.

 It was in the deflection circuit.

Just pull the light box (if it has one), and troubleshoot it on the bench.
Don't forget to take the remote. What is the Mfr. date of this set ? If less
then 10 years old, it most likely has a light box. If older,...it might not
have one. Maybe someone else can tell you for sure. Mits can be tricky, if
you never pulled one before,...but,...not that hard to do.
