Thanks to a good tech Andy Evancich's response It is fixed: At the rear
of the VCP looking down there is a 3 inch black heat sink with two
TO-220 transistor regulators (one is Q009). I resoldered both,as these
joints usually cause this dead symptom as per Andy.Still deck was
unresponsive so removed deck, main board, top board carefully noting plug
ID/location (many of these plugs can interconnect ,or swap with each
other, so mark them). Looking at the bottom of the main deck board just
in front of those two mentioned regs was a smaller transistor Q818
("C2500" on part). Q818 had one lead totally loose. Resoldered it and
all around as well as the 12VDC connection for good measure.Reassembled
all. Unit is playing good.-

Model VBP3000.This is one of those all in one VCR players with the flip
up 5" LCD screen.Sams Wholesale sells them, and others. Runs on 12VDC.
The LCD screen lights up.(seperate on switch) The VCR section is
dead. The 12 volts plugs into the VCR case and the LCD is interconnected
VIA a edge connection/hinge. So the LCD is getting power thru the VCR.
Very hard to get to the bottom. ANY with experience with these respond
please.
