Robert,
where'd you get the part# ???
If you have a manual, I need the pinout of the Motor Drive IC
BD6655fp.
as I said I've cleaned the Mode Switch twice, and the symptom never wavers
at all.I would think there would be SOME intermittance,if this Mode Switch
was the problem.
This thing tries to Load a Cassette(without one in the Housing) twice.
By that I mean the Voltage comes up,goes to zero, back up and Kills Power.
This voltage is always in the 'load' polarity.
Now if I put a tape slighty in the housing, when I plug it in,the Motor
Loads it all the way,and I mean all the way,as far as the Load direction
can go.
Voltage drops to zero, comes back up,and Kills power.

I know this sounds like the Start sensor could be bad(BTW I swapped positions
with the Start and End sensors yesterday,no help), but anytime I've seen
a start sensor bad,or ANY sensor for that matter, you would at least get an
'unload' TRY out of the Loading Motor. This Voltage Polarity never changes.
Even if the mechanics were in a bind, which they are not(I can load/unload
by hand
or 9v battery), you would at least get a TRY for 'unload' out of the
Loading Motor.
I'm going to try another LED today
