Al, I had this saved from a previous email I sent...
some of these you may have checked, but I'm just
posting all of it.
Replace CR4118, C4108, CR4402, C4402 & C4401
even if they check good. Also check CR4101, CR4606,
CR4111, C4105, Q4101, CR4122, CR4123, R4150, R1928,
R4114, C4705, C4115, CR4709, C4145, C414, CR3101,
R4150, C4141, SCR501, CR4504, C4503, R3126, CR4303,
CR4710, C4145, Q4105, R4102, C3124, R4704, R4713,
Q3102, R4904, U4101, the yoke, pin of 12-13 of T4102
could be open, resolder L4803 & T4401, and possibly
L4702, U4801, U1902, Q4302 check for shorts (pin 1-3) in
U1901 If you are getting ~15v from the PS, IC3101 & Q4601
could be bad. If it's down below 15v, replace C4145. Could
also be HV distribution block.

Thanks Dan,
Working late last night,so I screwed up on symptoms! The
160 volts is on
collector of the reg (Q4101)the h.out (Q4401)is 120 volts.The
reg pulses
from zero to about 250 volts (peak to peak). The 120 volts is
steady(no
load?)the 14volts is down to 8 volts.The 5 volt standby is
ok.I suspect a
load on the 14 volt line.
The horizontal never fires up even if I power pin # 25 on
Ul001
with external 9 volts. There is no driving pulse at #23
(U1001) with the 9
volts on #26.The shutdown pin remains at zero.
I am going to replace Q4101 later, even though it isn't
shorted and
obviously is driven.
When keyed "on" with remote
the "on" pin on the micro jumps for a split second and
remains low.
I suspect lightning damage as this came in after a stirm
period.
appreciate any help. I will post when fixed. al
