[TechAssist] Re: Computer problem

An OEM version has no retail box, just a thin booklet and the CD plus
the product key. OEM is meant to be sold to system builders rather than
directly to the public. Also, with OEM software, the manufacturer of the
software relinquishes the responsibility of waarranty or technical
support, by handing those over to the system builder. According to Ebay
rules, someone selling an OEM software must also include a piece of
hardware to go along with it. Strange how they don't care if the
hardware works or not. The hardware is supposed to be something that
installs inside the computer such as RAM or a hard drive or motherboard
but not an external peripheral such as a mouse or a USB cable.
