Bill:
The Time Depends on alot of Factors, but even if you were DMA33 in a
Std. IDE type buss, I dont think you would be looking at HOURS to Clone a
Drive under 10 Gig or so , Or Backup....unless perhaps the Original was
badly fragmented. Its recommended you defragment the Drive and Check for
errors before you backup or Clone. The S/W I mentioned before sometimes
prompts you to do an error check , which is recommended before the Copy or
other significant actions involving large amounts of data.
Usually when the time takes hours, its the type of SW used to do the
cloning, or something else could be running in the Background if its a
Windows Environment , sucking all the CPU cycles up.....lots of other
possibilities too. This One (Boot It Next Generation) is booted from a
Floppy , basicly using DOS, so you are devoted entirely to the Job at hand.
