That sounds like the Laser Etched number engraved on the FBT.
Sometimes that is ok, but I would say not this case. Is there a White
Sticker somewhere on it with numbers? You may have to actually remove the
FBT in a lot of Cases to see this Sticker. If there is an FCC ID on the
Monitor it may help too. Some Legitimate Numbers for Monitor FBT's:
