Do you know the link to get the Thomson software? I have your files and
soem that I have accumulated.

Yeah, that programmer looks like it would work fine. I haven't seen the
ponyprog software but you need to be able to read the chip into the
'buffer' - your PC's RAM, and be able to edit it on a byte by byte basis and
then re-program the chip with the edited data.
You need to download chipper checker software from Thompson and install it -
even if you don't have the CC box. Then you can browse the install
directory and look at the init files.

Here is a clip from ....\program files\chipchek\init\init187a.txt:
00 0F
01 01
02 13
03 08
04 20
05 07
06 60......

It's just two columns of hex digits. The first column is the hex offset
from the start of the EEPROM - (the address of the data) and the second
column is the data you need to write there to init the EEPROM. There are
many addresses that are skipped and the locations that hold the tuner data
are not changed.

Now there are some files in there like .......\program
files\chipchek\init\init195.txt that look like this:

F5 BF 10
06 00 S A0 00 00 FF
10 80 S A0 80 80 FF
14 1B S A0 1B 1B FF
16 20 S A0 20 20 FF
17 00 S A0 00 00 FF
18 3B F A0 3B 3B FF
1A 00 S A0 00 00 FF
1B 03 S A0 03 03 FF.....

What's all these columns about here? This looks complicated. But lucky
for us they included:
.......\program files\chipchek\init\init195.old which looks like this...

06 00
10 80
14 1B
16 20
17 00
18 3B
1A 00
1B 03.....

You can see that if you ignore the first line, the first two columns are the
same. So just use the first two columns and get on with it...

Also folks, I have RCA and some other eeprom data files in Intel hex format
that any EEPROM burning software should recognize. You can download them
at:
http://ocer.dyndns.org/eeprom

These will most likely require a tuner alignment if you burn these into a
chip.
