It is definitly not a projection, it is one of the very few 40" tube TVs. I 
have been in the business for over ten years and thought 36" was the biggest. 
The component locations he gave you will tell you exactly where to go on the 
circuit board. If they are not marked on the top, they will be marked on the 
bottom. With a schematic only you would not be able to figure out your problem 
without an oscilloscope. Just try to change the parts as suggested, probably 
less than $20 in parts. Let me know how it goes.
