[TA-A] [Amateur] Mitsubishi CS-40503 Entirely black screen

My appologies if this list is only for TV repair professional, however this
amateur is trying to find some information regarding fixing a Mitsubishi
CS-40503. I have posted in a couple do it yourself forums, but haven't
received much help. I will cut and paste my most recent posting that seems to
have given me the most information, however I still have questions.
Original poster on forum (this was not posted by me)
The screen is entirely black, no raster nothing; yet I feel static electricity
when it is turned on. The audio works fine. Before the screen when blank, The
screen had approximately 4 thin white HORIZONTAL lines spread vertically across
the top 6 inches. If it is the CRT, is it worth replacing? I am on a fixed
income. Today, is there such a thing as re-built CRT's? More than 50 years ago
I replaced many CRT's with re-rebuilt. Now I art my age I would have my son
help me if it is worth doing. How much should it cost if I take it to a shop.
Labor? parts? I am in A SITUATION WHERE 50% OF THE COST WILL BE PAID BY ANOTHER
ENTITY. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I love this TV and at my age, Big & bright is a
necessity.

This was my addition to the posting, looking for more help
i am having a similar problem...though the horizontal lines that occured before
the loss of the picture, seemed to be the top part of the screen folding over.
I would see sports scores upside down. I'm a real novice when it comes to these
things, but quite handy. I fixed a tv/vcr combo a few years back by changing a
capacitor out. Was hoping for a little more guidance than just:

Perhaps a place where i can get a schematic of the boards so that i can see
what i will be dealing with? Would appreciate being able to talk to someone via
email atleast, to talk through the problem.
Thanks!
If anyone can offer some guidance, it would really be appreciated. Changing
one capacitor on a small tv/vcr combo is one thing, this appears to be a bigger
undertaking that I would like to attempt.
