Well, maybe I should restate the part about near the end. Sometimes it's 
pretty far from the end when it starts slowing down, and it takes 
forever, like many minutes just to finish it off- not like the usual 
slowdown for a few seconds til it comes to the end of the tape. I will 
look into the sensor idea, thanks.
