Don,
If you still have trouble and do not want to leave the more expensive, banner 
hogging ISP, then get a free
email account with one of many web based sites.... www.hotmail.com and 
www.juno.com are two I know
of..stay away from Yahoo.
Thing I don't get, I worked on some computers for customers, relatives and do 
not get how a paying service
like AOL can get away with all those pop-ups...and I can bet you most of the 
SPAM comes right from their
users. I know this because my Aunt only plays games and emails family, yet gets 
all kinds of SPAM.
Their advertising windows are worse than the free sites that have one ad banner 
displayed.

Hello Doug, I contacted AOL about the techassist and AOL spam problem, they
told me about "spam user control's" I did not know I had this feature. I
adjusted it (at least I hope I did it right) so all my techassist mail should 
not
get bounced. If for any reason you see any mail sent to me coming back by all
means let me know, I do like AOL but if this problem continues I see no choice
but to change to another provider but I am reluctant as we have several
accounts that are all on a network so that would be a big deal. Any way I hope I
fixed the problem at least as far as I am concerned. If you have any other AOL
users the are having problems just tell them to go to "AOL keyword" and type in
"Spam controls"
