[TechAssist] Re: A question about fans and switches

We have several Panasonic fans. They have a pushbutton speed selector. When
they get old and the bearings get gummy, they wont start in low and I have to
hit the high button to get them going. After they get going I can switch to low
and they keep running. After a few more years that trick wont work anymore and
I have to take them apart and relube the bearings. Then for a few more years
they will start in low. They are about 20 years old now. If I had known that I
was going to do that more than once, I would have drilled holes so that I could
have put in some plastic tubing for relubing without dissasembly.
