He's blowing smoke.
If you have a '94 model it already has the new
R-whatever (34?) in it, so they don't have to
change anything. As stated before by someone else,
that can be bought cheap..
As for the leak, just track it down.
Or, just sell as is.
I would think that A/C wouldn't be that big a deal
in Canada anyway.
