I use the Canon 5D with 100-400mm for the big launches, shooting 1/3000 sec
timing priority to freeze the action while panning up (to catch mid-air action).

At night, I like the 16-35mm at f2.8 on wide angle to catch the action in one
frame. Example:

I have have good luck with the Cannon XTI and XSI 35mm digitals. They take
great shots of the entire launch. I have a family member who swears by the
Cannon D7 35mm digital that does all of that and will take digital video.

I'm wanting a good camera to take photos of Rocket launches. What are some
of you using? I have seen many postings of great shots! I've seen
someone
taking photos and can hear the camera snap 5 or more photos in a second.
With my Sony all I ever get is a photo of a smoke trail leaving the pad.
Any
subjections ??
