I understand there is frustration for folks driving through. However, the 
locals know the shortcuts. Unless it rains, then all bets are off. It hardly 
ever rains these days so traffic is pretty good. Just  need to know your way to 
avoid the masses. Traffic is of course getting worse but compared to the other 
big cities I have lived in, Austin is more manageable. 

Traveling through Austin? If so, most of your gridlock isn't Austin people.
