Possible Terry. According to Eccles high hinges till 12/29/60 @ SN 705620 when
change was made to lower hinges. This would have been about 4 months into
model year 61 production. But for the bus on the samba the bastard 40 was
stopped on 6/1/60 @ SN 614456. So it's not possible for this bus to have been
an early 61 if the engine is original. And Terry; I learn something new about
you every day; I didn't know that you had an early Westy. For all you early
bus lovers out there, if you don't have a copy of David Eccles's VW Transporter
and Microbus you need to get one. Got mine from Peter, don't know if he has
any more or not. Peter?
