yea I agree it's too high! here in Waco it's about $7.00 you can by a really good used tire for $20.00 and that's mounted and balanced if and $3.50 extra if they put in a new valve stem Sammie Smith <slsmith@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: NO! That's highway robbery. About an hour ago I had my tire store take a tire off of a 15" bus rim (wide 5) and mount it on a refurbished rim. They charged me $6. Had I had it balanced they would have charged another $3.50. And, yes they do have the tools to spin balance a wide 5. Of course, Nacogdoches is way out in the pine woods and things are probably cheaper here. But $20, no way. I would say anything above $10 to do nothing but mount and balance a tire where you walk in with the tire and wheel in hand is too much.
