OK Shirley:
Boy do you bring back memories. Let me tell you a great one. I'm just a
young kid. Buddy and I are making spending money scrapping out old
cars. Find a 37 Buick, straight 8, 4-door sedan with side mounted spare
tires. Belonged to an old doctor. Man, this thing weighs a ton so we're
gonna make a lot of money on scrap.  Just got to get it home.  No problem;
buddy has a car, we have a tow chain, tow it home where we are gonna scrap
it out. Just one problem, we are towing along, buddy driving his car and
pulling, I'm in the Buick, steering and braking. Look down and see the key
in the ignition. Looks interesting so I turn it and pull it out. Bad
mistake. Guess what Buicks had way back then. Yep, locking steering. Ok,
so now I'm going down the road with a locked steering wheel. That must
have lasted a total of 50 yards till the road curved. The chain broke,
luckily. I only went through a fence and about 50 yards in the Buick
before coming to a complete stop.

I learned early in life to not mess with locking steering.
Sammie
