I mentioned it to him and he sounded like it would be a go.BTW That extra for
the air cleaner you mentioned, is it orange?

Yep, he is a super nice guy and does have several very nice VWs, including the
fire truck.  Tell him I have that finger bracket for his air cleaner (at a fair
price) if he shows up at the Nac show.  And I have an extra for you also if you
are putting an early aircleaner on the 23.

I'll float it by him. And yes I believe his last name is Hernandez he does have
the Fire Truck although I have never seen it.

James:  Have an idea; why don't you convince Jay to load up the 23 in his
trailer, finished or not, and bring it to the Nac show and use it as a demo to
set up and advertise his shop?  We do not charge for vendors and will provide
him with a vendor spot to set up and advertise his shop and use your 23 as a
demo if he wants.  The only cost to him will be his travel costs.  We are only
2 1/2 hours from Ennis and if you want to pull out of Ennis by 6:00 or so you
can easily make the entire thing in one day with no motel cost.

And a question that I have been meaning to ask:  Is this the Jay of Jay
Hernandez that has all of the VWs including the SC fire truck?  Maybe not, but
I find it unusual that there would be two Jays in Ennis running restoration
shops and working on VWs.

I think I'd have only 50 miles on it (new engine, tranny, suspension -
basically everything) before the 27th so I might chicken out on driving it to
Nac
I've never driven anything older than a '72...we'll see

Man!  James; that thing is awesome.  It looks as if you really did find a great
shop to do the work.  Can't wait to see it, and even if you don't have every
little piece in place sure hope you can bring it to the Nacogdoches show.

Say hello to my 23 while your there. It was supposed to be on the way back on
Monday but not now and it looks like I won't make the Nac show on the 27th.
The material I needed to redo a couple of door panels was on back order from WW
so he will be coming home on Wednesday. I might have lost a week.

Let me know what ya think, you'll see him in person before I do. I updated my
thread on the Aircoolers with pics from Sewfine last week on the last
page:\http://www.aircoolers.org/v/showthread.php?t=15000
They do great work and they are local! Only 6 hrs away : )

I have a set up that I got from GoWesty in my '77 Bus but I put it in my self.
It used to be a Transporter.

I'll be talking to Carol on Tuesday about my other Bus they're working on, and
see if she wants those.

I am trying to help Carolyn at SewFine with these pictures. They are wanting to
supply curtains in the future for bays, but they need to know how many
different rails and curtain tabs are out there.

I am in need of pictures of your Westy curtain set up. How they mount and any
tabs used on the curtain it self. Please help by sending me your pictures.
