Everybody carries them. Just tell them you need a fuel tank fuel tap and the metal strain sock for 64 VW, or make up whatever year you want that has a fuel guage. --- On Mon, 9/28/09, Brian Denning <i_am_cool_fred@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Brian Denning <i_am_cool_fred@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] Re: fuel reserve To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Monday, September 28, 2009, 12:59 PM you got like a part number or something for htat, my guy at roy rogers can't get anything like that. i'll look on cip1 too, but so far no luck finding what you speak of. and as far as running out of gas denis, i always carry a can, never have had a bus with working gauge so i always carry a can Date: Sun, 27 Sep 2009 16:58:49 -0700 From: bugcollections@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [tcb] Re: fuel reserve To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Very easy. Just install the later (62 on) fuel tap instead of the reserve tap. Much cheaper than a reserve tap also. Put in a new one with new gasket and the metal strainer sock.. --- On Sun, 9/27/09, Brian Denning <i_am_cool_fred@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Brian Denning <i_am_cool_fred@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] fuel reserve To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Sunday, September 27, 2009, 8:38 AM pulled my tank last week, it's very clean in there, just a black powder from old gas, so i flushed it out, and from what i see, no rust inside, which is amazing since it's been parked since 1982. question. Fuel Reserve, i know it's not a wonderful idea, but is there a way to get rid of that? just run some sort of small nipple fitting on the bottom of the tank and eliminate the reserve? i've always carried a can of gas with me everywhere i go, and know the rule of "every 200 miles fill up" how can i get rid of this thing?
