Had a friend once that did just that with a 59 panel van, cept he used old 
tires, but one big mattress would also work I guess.

They build a jig and bolt the bus [or whatever] to it so they can roll 
it onto its side.
That way the bottom of the vehicle is exposed, so really get to the 
underside details of a resto.
Sounds like a Pain in the Butt to me...
