Adjusted them before this problem occured or after? I f before, take another 
look to rule it out.

I'll check compression (cold though, no idle) tonight. 

But, the valves adjusted fine. I didn't watch while rotating, just
crawled out, rotated to next piston, crawled under, adjusted.
