Speaking as a layman here If you're contemplating legal action you may want to 
avoid a "public beat down."

I realize that you're angry and I believe you have that right, I would suggest 
focusing the pain more directly.  I've been in the situation but waiting on a 
car for two years while the Insurance company and the painter went round and 
round on the car.  I never got my car in the time promised and I wound up 
putting most of it back together again after there was an impasse.  Eventually 
the courts settled it, the Insurance Company got most of their money but I 
wound up with nothing for my time and effort except a freshly restored Porsche. 
 In this case I'd recommend getting a lawyer, fixing the problems and letting 
the legal process do its work.
