I went in February once - sucked - the sun goes down at 5 and comes up around 9 am.We went the first week of June and it was actually REALLY hot. They don't have AC in most of the old hotels (not the Marriots or Hiltons) and we went without a fan for the first day until someone else checked out. One day it was so hot we spent the entire day in the Louvre... bummer huh LOL! I would go in the Spring IMHO --- On Thu, 2/10/11, atx <atx_bus@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: atx <atx_bus@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] Re: OT: When is the best time to visit France? They are great people and they all speak English “from scool”, but they will tell you to learn German. I hated Italy my first time, but now it is a big favorite, England can be cheap to fly into, London is fabulous and you could take a train to Edinburgh, Scotland. France would not be my choice if I only had one more trip in me. It would probably be Rome. 10 days is not enough for Rome. Museums, cafes, wine = Rome. Last thought, when people tell me that they would love to go to Europe but just can’t handle the expense and all, I tell them to go to New York. IT has EVERYTHING. Did you know that the largest hand built cathedral in the world is in NYC? Duncan, back to the original question the answer is half past never. Camping in the country side is not bad but we walked out of a big hotel in Paris quoting the Bible to them.
