New shocks

Jenkins bus runs too. I followed him on 610 and he was cruising 72. That's in
an RGB split bus. Personally, anything over 65 in a split window with stock
suspension I feel I am taking my life in my hands. But I couldn't believe that
bus would cruise that fast.

Paris and River won something? Sweetness, we left a little early to attend some
other functions. It was very nice to see everyone at the show, Jenkins your bus
looks so good brother I really like what you did. The highlight for the kids
was also the trip to the top of the monument to look out over the old battle
grounds and the USS Texas battleship, while driving out we all yelled "
Remember the Alamo". Sawyer you hair transplant looked awesome it makes you
look very distinguished.

Thanks for making us smile everyone,

Eskimo

I should apologize to Steve and Sharon...congrats. It was "different" seeing
Paul in something else than the Zone. It was so nice to see Tim there and he
stayed all day without any problems. He looked great.

As for "no-show" season...let me clarify. I don't have any more shows coming
up. All my energy now must go to putting on the Houston show in September. I
am scared out my wits because I have never done a show before and being
president...it scares the living heck out of me.

As for a lot of the cars that don't travel outside of Houston...they are just
crazy. So many great shows to go to and they must not trust their vehicle to
go more than fifty miles one way. If you buy a classic car...drive it. Be
proud of it.

Yeah, it was pretty neat. Liked Paul's new ride, engine sounded awesome; Dave
Perry drove his bus all the way from central Florida to sell some racks;
Skyler, my 7 year old granddaughter said the neatest part of the show was
getting to go the top of the monument; and she also commented that her mom got
a lot of tan (I told her I called it sunburn); congrats to Tim Drachenberg for
getting best of show in his 51 split; and to Steve and Sharon for getting best
display. Still haven't figured out how in the world Steve gets all of that
coke stuff packed in that Westy. And I wish we could figure out how to get all
those Houston area people to attend shows anywhere else other than Houston.
150+ cars, most of which have never been seen anywhere more than 30 miles from
Houston.

And as to the "no show" season coming up: There is the buggy blast in Salado
put on by the Manx Buggy club in two weeks. Neat little show primarily for the
buggies but all VWs are welcome and they have a neat cruise and picnic and it's
in a neat little town. Also, a show on June 26 I believe in Oklahoma City.
Then of course you have the summer to plan for Eureka.

And a bus side note: Auction concluded on Jane's pink 21 window bus: Looks
like it went for $32,500.

Well, the 20th annual Monument Show is behind us. Now the long drought of no
shows begins. But we did have a good showing of Type 2s yesterday. I think I
counted 10 in total. Some that I hadn't even seen before.

Congrats to all the winners from the TCB...
Mark J.
Trey J.
Chris D. (cajun eskimo)
Sammy
If I missed anyone...I am sorry.

There were over 150 cars there and the weather was not even the best...but
after about 10:30...boy did it get hot!!! Lots of people are hurting this
morning after getting sunburned.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Emily
