Well, since they have said the program will end Monday, hopefully no one will
turn theirs in over the weekend.? Our 2 Vanagons will gladly be representing at

Will is right. More folks need to check their facts before saying something...
Per the feds "official" mileage figures, it's 15 mpg for a '91 Vanagon with
auto
and 2WD. 4 speed manual is 17 mpg. It was 15/16 in '84 - the oldest year
eligible - and was as low as 14/15 in 1986. Synchros in '86 also got 14. Best
I've ever done was 16 or so but I'm no hypermiler.

I hope we don't lose any Vanagons to this program, but feel sure we will.
(Personally, I think Denis is just jealous that HE didn't get a letter for
