The only reason I won't take it to the dealer is cause they will bitch about
my hack job. Either bitch or charge more, not both, you know!

I have to install a relay cause there is not enough juice from the led turn
signals to run the blinker. Actually, they don't draw enough juice and it
blinks like a spazz

HA! Tracing a line up under a dash where I do not fit that goes under
the bus where I also do not fit, holding a test light while upside down with my
leg falling asleep and the wires are all the wrong color because of a 20yr old
hack job and my ***damn glasses are in the living room.
Just tracing a line my white *ss!

It just tracing a line, nothing more.

My dad was a kick-ass mechanic but even he wouldn't do
electrical trouble shooting. Not even on his own car. He would sooner sell it
and buy another car and I agree.
I have neither the aptitude nor the patience to go on a
wiring harness safari.
There is a nice little shop of Mexican guys in Pasadena who
can do that in their sleep for a case of beer.

                            I blew a fuse. # 9 I think. The radio and clock
are good now, but the tail light is still out. More trouble shooting tomorrow.

My Bentley is for the “Station Wagon/Bus” not a Westy
but…

For a 79, the stop lights are on fuse #12 and the
right tail light is on fuse #2 (numbered from left to right) There are none
listed for the radio or the dash lights but that should be easy enough to trace
back to the fuse box. Personally I don’t believe in coincidences so I’m
thinking screwdriver+sparks+things stopped working are all connected…

Regardless, check your fuses 1st, any corrosion is
bad eg the fuse may be good but corrosion can sever the connection. If all your
fuses are good, check for 12v and ground with a multi meter at the clock. If
you’ve got both the problem is internal to your clock L

I know this may be in bad taste/timing but one should
always disconnect the negative post on the battery before doing any electrical
work. Good luck finding and fixing your problem Kelly!!

                          Tracy,

                          Kelly has a 79 Westy.

I pulled my dash out to upgrade to led's.
While doing so, the lead wire on my dash clock was a bit tough to pop off, so I
used a screwdriver to pry it. While doing so, one end of the screwdriver
sparked on the clock itself. I put it all back together and everything works
accept the clock, the radio and the right tail/brake light. .
Once it gets a little warmer than the recent
30 degree temps I will go out and check the fuses. (the light in the clock
still works)
I am pretty sure I blew a fuse, but my
question is this- is there a fuse that runs only the clock the radio and the
right tail light? That just seems odd.
I changed the bulb- no effect. The right rear
signal and back-up light still work. It's just the middle bulb, for running
light and braking.
                                  Is it an unrelated coincidence?
