Their are three pieces of removable tin around the doghouse. The Rear Deflector, the "hoover bit" and the exhaust tin which goes through the breastplate. The fixed portion that's part of the shroud directs the air. It doesn't unbolt. Basically if you have Tin sections from the doghouse missing or falling off the engine will run warmer but it'll be safe to drive. Just don't go rolling through the Sahara in July. If I get a chance this week, I can probably roll by and hook it back up. You can get to the 10mm nuts when the engine is installed. I just takes 9 foot long arms. -----Original Message----- >From: Neil <nbmdude@xxxxxxxxx> >Sent: Apr 27, 2008 3:26 PM >To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: [tcb] I Got Dem Old Dog House Oil Cooler Blues > >I was checkin' the oil yesterday, noticed that the >tinware for the dog house oil cooler was layin' in the >engine compartment...the part that attaches to the >shroud and covers the cooler. >I know its a forced air coolin' system...my question >is, would it be safe to drive it 20 minutes to >Qualitat? >Due to neck, shoulder and lower back injuries, I can't >pull the motor myself to fix it. >Which forces me to take 'er to the shop... >Will I screw up the motor via over heatin' with a >short drive? >This bein' injured is gettin' more expensive by the >day! >Anyone tried fixin' a situation like this w/out >pullin' the motor?
