Many years ago, I built up a '61 with a 14hp and put a temp gauge with a dip stick sender on it. Any time I put it on the hiway, it would peg the gauge at 300+. After 5k mi and getting tired of seeing it pegged most of the time, I just disconnected it. 60k miles later I pulled and sold the 1200 and put in a 1600. I did drive the crap out of that bug. -----Original Message----- From: tcb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:tcb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Brian Denning Sent: Saturday, July 28, 2007 7:12 AM To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [tcb] Re: Good Morning! be careful out there. and you are right it's not worth the risk, if it has been running hot at night, to drive it during the day. >From: "Peter Albarian" <pcalbar@xxxxxxxxxxx> >Reply-To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: [tcb] Re: Good Morning! >Date: Sat, 28 Jul 2007 11:38:27 +0000 > >Here I am driving south through Oklahoma on US-69 and enjoying the cool air >flowing over my bald head.
