I agree with everything you said Terry, almost.  The park is about 15 miles
east of 259, not two.  It's a long drive down a beautiful road.  I have been
going up on that mountain since 1954, when I saw the ruins of the original
lodge.  Was rebuilt sometime after that and then burned in the 60s to again be
rebuilt.  Bev and I have, for the past 3 years, left Thursday about noon,
toured up to the Queen Wilhemena lodge and spent the night.  It's about 1/2 way
to Eureka and makes the cruise into Eureka on Friday a pleasent drive.

Terry, you and I must be a lot alike.  We obviously both like that mountain and
the lodge and we also agree on Mission Tejas State park (one of the neatest
places to camp in Texas).  And of course we are also both old and drive buses.

Duncan     ride to McAlister Ok  & go east from taliheina up the talimena dr (
one of the top drives in the country ) to Queen Wilamena State park . They have
an awsome motel/hotel there ( semi cheap ) . You ride on top of a ridge & able
to see for many miles either direction . The park is just a couple of miles
east of hwy 259 ( north route to Ft Smith Ak )      Well worth the trip / time
.    Terry

She made plans to join the family for a get together in Myrtle Beach same time
as ES. None of them drive VWs either. Huh! (he sez huffily)

Looks like I'm a dog on the loose again. BUT I promise to behave.

Somewhat.

Now I'm not sure how or when I'll go. I've always wanted to camp in the
Telahaminis (sp?) and ride those roads on the bike. Top of the mountain might
make a nice base camp for a day or two.

Or I might just work til the last minute. (Gasp!)

What day are the Blues leaving?

Okay. Whew. You know how confused I get. Denise was talking about last night's
weather and Paul said he was on his way up. . .I thought I missed the show.
