You should have posted that thing yesterday, that's plumb scary. Least you don't have chrome bumpers. Every time the subject of custom busses comes up I think of the photo that I took at a show a couple of years ago. Enjoy! And I wonder what it would bring at a BJ auction. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/610491.jpg --- On Wed, 11/2/11, singlecabboy <sealingwaxred@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: singlecabboy <sealingwaxred@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] Re: Chasing Classic Cars To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Wednesday, November 2, 2011, 10:54 AM Only singlecabs came from the factory two tone and delux models .lol Paul Smith Transporters@The Point 9 October ,2012 Morgan's Point Resort Texas --- On Wed, 11/2/11, sammie smith <bugcollections@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: sammie smith <bugcollections@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] Re: Chasing Classic Cars To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Wednesday, November 2, 2011, 9:13 AM There was never a DC painted two-tone anything. And there were no DCs in 57-58. Commercial trucks came in only 4 colors and one non-color. Grey, pearl white, dove blue and sealing wax red if I remember correctly. You could also special order from the factory in primer so you could paint it company colors. But if you are in it for the money I guess you can paint it any color you want, chrome anything you want, and cover up the bondo with custom this and that and sell it to some idiot and make a lot of money. See the whines section of the samba about the poor guy in Dallas who just bought the panel van wrapped as a 23 window on e-bay and is now trying to sell it at a loss on the Samba just to get rid of a pile of crap. You can search Type IIs for sale in Texas on the Samba and you will see his ad; for $11,500 I think. --- On Wed, 11/2/11, James Dwan <james_dwan_2000@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: James Dwan <james_dwan_2000@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] Re: Chasing Classic Cars To: "tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx" <tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wednesday, November 2, 2011, 8:30 AM That was it. I wasn't too fond of all that chrome... and wasn't that color scheme from the '57 to '58 era?
