You should have posted that thing yesterday, that's plumb scary.

Yeah, we know Paul.  Least you don't have chrome bumpers.  Every time the
subject of custom busses comes up I think of the photo that I took at a show a
couple of years ago.  Enjoy!  And I wonder what it would bring at a BJ auction.

There was never a DC painted two-tone anything.  And there were no DCs in
57-58.  Commercial trucks came in only 4 colors and one non-color.  Grey, pearl
white, dove blue and sealing wax red if I remember correctly.  You could also
special order from the factory in primer so you could paint it company colors.
But if you are in it for the money I guess you can paint it any color you want,
chrome anything you want, and cover up the bondo with custom this and that and
sell it to some idiot and make a lot of money.

See the whines section of the samba about the poor guy in Dallas who just
bought the panel van wrapped as a 23 window on e-bay and is now trying to sell
it at a loss on the Samba just to get rid of a pile of crap.  You can search
Type IIs for sale in Texas on the Samba and you will see his ad; for $11,500 I
think.

That was it. I wasn't too fond of all that chrome... and wasn't that color
scheme from the '57 to '58 era?

Was the auction live or did it actually happen in March of this year?  The
reason I ask is that I found a Samba discussion about a CCC DC auction and
people were ripping the salvage title, chrome bumpers etc.

that a fair price for the double cab?

It used to be the "HD Channel" if that helps.

Just in case you didn't see the ads, CCC will be auctioning a split double cab
on the show Tuesday night.
