A few years ago I was pricing out having a wiring diagram for the bus printed out poster sized. A few years ago I was looking at over $200.

I just poked around again and prices for a 36"x60" print range from $85 to $150 online if you provide a preformatted image of sufficient resolution for the printer to work with.

I now have access to a large format color printer and I understand why the prices are so high. Just bought a single belt for the print head unit for $97 ---- and it's considered a consumable.

An ink refill kit runs near $400.

That said, I would like to offer to print large format copies of the Bentley diagrams (the ones from http://vintagebus.com/wiring/index.html).

$90 for a 36"x60" print and I handle the image manipulation to get it scaled so it's not a super blurry waste of time plus pasting together if the vintagebus.com scan is a multi-part.

That's $18/linear foot or $6/square foot. The local Kinko's charges $7.75/sq.ft.

Some of the diagrams might look screwed up if resized to 36x60. If it will be a different size/cost after I've cleaned up/resized the image I'll let you know. If the scan on vintagebus is blurry to begin with I'll clean it up as much as possible then send you a copy of the cleaned up file for you to preview before I actually print it.

There is lead time to get a clean image. I played with the "Bus, 1973-USA" image for a week to get it clean and I still haven't added an English "key" to it.

Go to the vintagebus page, pick the one you want printed, and send me a link.

You also need to send me an email stating that you own a copy of the Bentley manual that the image you want enlarged is located in. I am providing enlargement services, not reselling Bentley diagrams. If you lie about owning the manual that's on you, not me.

For payment I'll send you a secure link where you can provide credit card details (it's the "credit card update" form my Internet customers use). I prefer processing the card through my bank rather than using PayPal because it costs me less. You can also send a check. I won't run charges on cards until the poster is actually printed and ready to be shipped. Shipping will be extra but I can't quote a fixed price. No handling/packing fee, you'll only pay what it actually costs to ship.

Here's what one of these prints looks like hanging on a 8' wide x 8' tall wall. http://www.texasvolksbus.org/wiring-diagram-enlargements/

(that one is a "failed test", had the margins set wrong for the large format and it cropped the ends)

The Internet business is in a slump. Dialup customers are bailing faster than DSL customers are signing up. I probably won't be at any shows this year except maybe Temple in October if I've recovered a bit. I need to sell about 50 of these posters to make my sphincter quit puckering every time I compare the bill stack with the bank account stack this month <grin>
