 dont mean to sound rude or harsh but the manual is also a good place to learn 
things about what talks can do. Also go into the talks ap and have a play. Dont 
worrie you cant do any damage and if you change a setting and get lost groups 
like this will have people willing and able to tell you how to get it back to 
the way you liked it.

  Remember that most sighted people are not as used to us at listening to 
synthetic speech, so might prefer it a bit slower. Probably in Tools, you will 
find Speech. Go in there and make adjustments to the Nokia TTS voice.

    Indeed Barbra, but as a matter of interest is there any way to speed up the 
speech.  I just cannot even imagine a sighted person listening to that.

      Yes, it's for sighted people. You can set it up to read incoming messages 
and Emails automatically when they are received for use when driving for 
example. No need to use the feature when you have TALKS.

        In the e-mail on both of these phones, there is an option to listen 
when a very dull and dreary female voice reads the message very slowly.  It 
would not even put me to sleep but drive to distraction.  Is this a gimic 
feature for sighted people?
