To read a Word document you must have version 6 of Quick Word. You will find
this by Opening Quick Office and going to Options and About. Select About and
you should get the version. If you do not get About you should get an Option
Updates and Upgrades. You may be luckey and get a free upgrade. Anyway all that
said, try this out in your current version of Word. Open your document. Now
Talks will not read the list of your documents within Quick Office but if you
have a Word document on your memory card you will be able to locate it using
Talks. Open it' then go to Options and select Edit. You will then be able to go
down the document line by line or character by character, or word by word.
Reading depends on the cursor position or mode. There are 3 modes, character,
word and original. These 3 positions are obtained by using a toggle Talks key
and long press of number 2 key on the keypad, not to be confused with soft key
2.

Hi all,
I have just transferred a document over to my e5 in doc. And txt formats. I
can open-up both formats, but I cannot do the following:
1. I cannot read txt document letter by letter or word by word, is there a
setting that I need to change to do this?
2. I cannot get talks to read the doc. Document word by word even though the
talks curser is set to words.
Thanks for your help.

Thank you.
