Follow these steps from the SAMNet Help System and this will get your Email going.
Serotek Online Help: SAMNet - (System Access Mobile Network): Advanced Email Features

SAMNet members have the ability to check their SAMNet email accounts from outside of SAMNet. While the SAMNet mailer is very easy to use, there may be times where you will want to use another program, such as Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Mac Mail, or the mailer on your mobile device, and now you can. Please note that this feature may be difficult for novice users to set up, as the location of mail account settings will vary. Serotek technical support may be unable to give in-depth assistance with setting up your particular email client.

To enable this feature, follow these steps:

1.

Open SAMNet by pressing Control+Alt+N.

2.

Select Email from the SAMNet main screen and press Enter.

3.

Select the Set POP3/IMAP Password (advanced) link and press Enter.

4.

Fill in a password. This password will only be used to retrieve your
email using POP3 or IMAP. It has no bearing on your PIN to access
other network services or SAToGo. Type this password in both the
Password and the Confirm Password edit fields. Note that you will
not hear the password as you type it, so type carefully.

5.

Press the OK button.

A note about creating strong passwords

For your security, and the security of the SAMNet community as a whole, it is important that you choose a password that is not easily breakable by password-cracking tools employed by spammers who wish to use your account to send unsolicited email. SAMNet has a tool that will verify the strength of your password, and will not let you proceed if the password is deemed too weak. However, it can be difficult to choose a secure password that is both easy to remember by you, and is not easily crackable. Here are some tips to help you.

*

A password must be at least 8 characters in length, and should
contain upper and lower case letters, numbers, and even a symbol
such as an exclamation mark or slash.

*

Password cracking tools often employ the method of analyzing a
string of characters and looking for words that are found in the
dictionary. Not only can these tools detect a word like "book",
which would be found in the dictionary, but can also detect words
where letters have been replaced with similar-looking symbols. In
the "book" example, b00k would still be detected as a dictionary
word, assisting the password cracker in getting close to cracking
the entire password.

*

Spaces are permitted in a password, and can increase the security of
the password.

*

You want to choose a password that you'll remember, so one strategy
could be to choose a phrase and use the first letters in the words
of that phrase as part of your password. For example, let's consider
the phrase: "SAMNet is great, and only costs $149 per year! A phrase
this long is impractical to type as a password. However, let's take
the first letters in this sentence, employ the dollar sign, comma
and exclamation point, and you get this. Sig,aoc$149py! Now you've
created a password you can remember, and is not easily crackable.

Once you've created your secure password, you can set up your email client. This will likely be Windows Live Mail or Outlook on Windows. You can also use the mailer on your mobile device, on your iPhone, or on your Mac or Linux machines. Here are the settings you will need. Please note that the location of these settings will vary by email client, and support may not be able to help you find them.

Your Name: What you want people to see when they get email from you

Incoming Server type: POP3 or IMAP. You can use either one, but IMAP is recommended if you plan to check your email from multiple places, such as the SAMNet mailer, Windows Live Mail, and your mobile device. IMAP does a better job of keeping mail straight when it is checked from several mailers or several locations.

Incoming Mail Server: secure.samobile.net

Incoming mail server port: This will depend on whether you have chosen POP3 or IMAP. For POP3, use port 995, and for IMAP use port 993.

Please note that in many third-party email clients, the options for setting incoming and outgoing mail ports are not found on the main configuration screen, but rather may be under a section titled "advanced" or something similar. If you are unsure where to find mail port settings for your email client, please consult the documentation for that client.

Outgoing Mail Server: secure.samobile.net.

Note: both the incoming and outgoing servers use SSL encryption to ensure that your data is sent securely.

Username: your complete SAMNet email address, such as fred@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Password: the password you set earlier

If using Outlook, do not check the box for Secure Password Authentication.

The SMTP server does require authentication to be used. You will use the same login and password for the SMTP server as you used for the incoming IMAP or POP3 servers above.

SMTP Port: Many Internet service providers block the default SMTP port; port 25, from being used. This is presumably so people will use their mail servers instead of someone else's to send email. We don't currently allow the use of this port.

Instead, you can either send mail through your provider's SMTP server, or you may use port 465 for SSL-encrypted SMTP. This is the case for most devices, but in the case of iDevices such as the iPhone or iPad we recommend using port 587 instead. Port 465 will work on these devices, but the connection may take a bit longer to be established.

A note about autoconfiguration in email clients

Some email clients, such as Outlook, offer the ability to enter your email address, and using this information the client attempts to find the appropriate information to configure your settings for you. In almost all cases, the program is unable to detect the correct settings. Don't be alarmed when this happens. It simply means that you need to manually configure the settings for your account using the information above.

Hi. Whenever I try installing the samobile email account on my iphone I keep getting a message that says that the log in is disabled for the samobile email account and it won't take the user name, email address and the password. I've written to tek support but haven't gotten a response. Thanks.
